This is a tribute to dancer and choreographer Gemze de Lappe produced for the 2019 Isadora Duncan International Symposium in London. I was fortunate to spend quality time with Ms. de Lappe shortly before her passing in 2017, and during that time she gave me permission to organize and digitize elements in her personal archive. It is from her archive that I crafted this tribute video focusing just on her experiences with learning, performing, and teaching the dance techniques of Isadora Duncan.
This is a tribute to Broadway performer Marin Mazzie who passed from ovarian cancer in the fall of 2018 after battling the disease for over three years. Utilizing excerpts from live performances and interviews culled from her 20+ year career, this video was produced for possible use at The Tony Awards as well as for her husband Jason Danieley to use as an introduction at speaking engagements to introduce Marin to the audience and tell her story in her own words.
For this tribute to Broadway and film actress Barbara Harris, I produced an introductory video, a montage covering her stage and television work, a package featuring her singing in feature films, as well as a career retrospective video including footage from all eighteen of her films. These four segments are presented in one continuous package in the above link. This project required merging of material from VHS, DVD, and other media from her 17 films, including research to uncover less-used images. Shown at an event honoring her at The Green Room 42 in between live musical performances.
Gemze de Lappe was a principal dancer for Agnes De Mille on Broadway (Paint Your Wagon and Oklahoma!) as well as a choreographer and teacher in her own right. I was fortunate to befriend her in the last year of her life. I created the above video covering a broad range of material from a wide variety of still and moving sources for her memorial at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. This project required merging and syncing sound and picture from disparate sources and creating effective transitions to achieve maximum quality.
The videos above are a few examples of the training and engagement videos I worked to create for Nationwide Insurance. The “Surprise & Delight” animated video was written and performed by myself based on a testimonial I submitted. The other video is an example of a segment produced to engage and/or train Personal Lines Member Servicing representatives on initiatives, best practices, and to serve as introductions to panel discussions related to topics within the insurance industry.
The two montages above were produced for an event commemorating the 60th anniversary of The King and I motion picture. I was instructed by Rodgers & Hammerstein president Ted Chaplin to craft an opening video combining moments from the films of Anna and the King of Siam (1946) and The King and I (1956) that could show the similarities and differences between the adaptions of the source material. I then suggested the pop covers video to showcase the wide variety of interpretations of songs from the score.
Above are two promotional trailers for upcoming theatrical productions as well as two videos chronicling the history of the theatre company back to its inception in 1984.
